St. Joseph’s House, Manor Hill.

There is great excitement within our group currently as we put our final preparations in place to commence works at St. Joseph’s House, Manor Hill. As per the media coverage over the last week, Waterford City & County Council have officially announced our agreement for what will be the largest single application of the Repair & Lease scheme in the state at one of Waterford’s most prominent derelict city centre sites.

This project is being undertaken by Walsh & Sheehan Manor Hill Investments Ltd under the Housing For All Plan, and we plan to repurpose St. Joseph’s House- a derelict building and the grounds, making it more accessible to the surrounding community as well as delivering 71 high quality residential units.

”The funding is being provided under Housing for All – A New Housing Plan for Ireland.  It is an objective of Housing for All to address vacancy and provide for efficient use of existing stock.  Housing for All identifies the opportunity to re-imagine and transform our cities and towns, and to increase residential development in cities and town centres, with a consequent emphasis on amenities and quality of life.  The Plan acknowledges that addressing vacancy and dereliction has to form a key part of this response.”

We would like to thank all the team Waterford City & County Council for backing our vison on this project from day 1 and our design team MDP + Partners Architects for there patience in working towards and delivering the vison in such a high quality fashion and their teams input to date and John Cummins for all his essential assistance on the project to date

It’s great to see this project get such recognition already from the local media in WLR Waterford & the Waterford News & Star.
